RASC News Agency: Sheikh Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban, recently claimed that the regime under his control has grown more stable and powerful with each passing day. Akhundzada made these remarks during a speech at the graduation ceremony of 480 police officers from the Islamic Police Training Center in Kandahar. These statements, however, are in stark contrast to the reality on the ground, where the Taliban have failed to fully secure Afghanistan. Under their rule, the country has become a haven for terrorist organizations, with reports suggesting that dozens of terrorist groups are operating freely within Afghanistan.
Moreover, Afghanistan’s airspace remains outside Taliban control, with drones flying unchallenged over various provinces daily. In addition, terrorist factions, notably ISIS, are active across different regions, perpetrating frequent attacks. Just last week, ISIS carried out a deadly assault in Daikundi, resulting in 14 fatalities. Opposition military fronts, including the National Resistance Front and the Freedom Front, have also intensified their operations, launching numerous attacks even striking at the heart of Taliban strongholds. Contrary to the Taliban leader’s assertion, the group is not gaining strength but rather losing ground.
In an official statement, the Kandahar Police Command noted that during his speech, the Taliban leader encouraged the newly graduated police officers, saying, “Do not lose hope. I assure you that the Islamic Emirate is improving with each passing day.” The statement also highlighted that Akhundzada urged the officers to prioritize obedience above all else.
The event was attended by several high-ranking Taliban officials, including the Acting Defense Minister, Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid.
