RASC News Agency: The Afghanistan Prosecutors Association has condemned Monday’s suicide attack outside the Directorate of Enforcement of Taliban Orders in Darul Aman Road, Kabul, which resulted in the death of 16 prosecutors and left many more injured, including innocent civilians. The association stated that this targeted attack bears striking similarities to the tactics employed by the Taliban in the past, leading many to attribute the assault to them, labeling it as part of a “genocide against the Tajiks.”
According to the association, these casualty figures were obtained through direct contact with prosecutors and the victims’ families. In a statement released on Wednesday, September 4, the association described the attack as “purposeful” and emphasized that its nature is indistinguishable from the Taliban’s previous assaults on judicial and legal personnel during the Republic era. Many have similarly attributed this attack to the Taliban, viewing it as an act of ethnic cleansing against the Tajik population.
The Afghanistan Prosecutors Association further highlighted that the Taliban have been executing such attacks for years, continuing unabated to this day. The statement from the association underscores that this attack reveals the falsehood of the Taliban’s claims of nationwide security and general amnesty. Despite repeated attacks across various regions, the Taliban’s assertions of complete security have been consistently undermined.
The association has called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to investigate the attack thoroughly. The suicide bomber detonated his explosives on Monday evening near the Directorate of Enforcement of Orders in the “Qala-e-Bakhtyar” area, the sixth district of Kabul. Khalid Zadran, the Taliban’s spokesperson for the Kabul Police Command, reported that six people, including a woman, were killed and 13 others were injured in the blast.
Local sources, however, indicated that the death toll was higher. One source told “Etilaat Roz” newspaper that at least eight people were killed in the explosion. Most of the victims were employees who had been hired by the Attorney General’s Office during the previous government and had continued working under the Taliban’s rule. The majority of the victims were from the provinces of Badakhshan and Takhar.
