RASC News Agency: The Taliban publicly flogged three individuals, including a woman, in Khost province on charges of “escaping from home and aiding a woman in escaping from her house.” According to a statement from the Taliban’s Supreme Court, each of these individuals received “39 lashes” in the Ali Shir district of the province.

The statement further revealed that, in addition to the flogging, the Taliban sentenced one of the accused to one year and six months in prison, the second to two years, and the third to three years. Despite ongoing criticism from international organizations and human rights bodies, including the United Nations, the Taliban continue to administer corporal punishment, particularly public lashings.

This marks the fourth consecutive day that the Taliban have publicly flogged individuals, including women, in various provinces across the country. In recent incidents, the Taliban publicly flogged two individuals in Ghazni on Wednesday, one in Kabul the day before, and 12 in Zabul on Monday, all on various charges.

Statistics compiled by media outlets indicate that over the past nearly three years, the Taliban’s Supreme Court has stoned 37 people and publicly flogged more than 610 individuals, including 107 women, in public.
