RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan has issued a statement vehemently condemning the Taliban’s enactment of the “Commanding Right and Forbidding Wrong” law, denouncing it as a form of systematic discrimination against Afghanistani women. On Sunday, August 25th, the Front asserted that the ratification of this law by the Taliban’s leader would inevitably exacerbate physical and psychological violence against women throughout the country.
The statement declares: “This law serves as a tool for the oppression of women and will result in the establishment of a system of collective punishment.” The National Resistance Front has also called upon the citizens of Afghanistan not to remain silent in the face of the Taliban’s “repressive” and “tyrannical” policies. Additionally, the Front urged religious scholars who are cooperating with the Taliban to cease supporting this group, warning them against securing their livelihood through the endorsement of repression and injustice.
Previously, the Afghanistan Freedom Front had also condemned the Taliban’s enactment of this law. Several political figures, cultural leaders, and women’s rights activists have referred to the law as a “manifesto of terror,” describing it as an affront to human dignity. Furthermore, the overwhelming majority of international organizations, including the United Nations, have denounced the ratification of this law as oppressive and a violation of the fundamental rights of the Afghanistani people.
