RASC News Agency: Local sources in Herat Province report that a young man has died as a result of an internal conflict and exchange of gunfire between two Taliban factions in the province. Sources informed the media on Thursday, June 13, that the incident occurred on Tuesday evening in the “Tank Markaz” area of Herat City.
According to sources, the young man was initially injured by the Taliban’s gunfire but succumbed to his severe injuries last night in a Herat hospital. The victim, identified as Wahid Ahmad, was approximately 25 years old. He was caught in the crossfire during an internal skirmish between Taliban forces. The Taliban in Herat have not officially commented on the death of this young man.
The targeting of civilians as a result of internal conflicts among Taliban factions is not a new issue in various provinces. In a recent incident, Taliban forces in Kabul opened fire on several residents of Panjshir Province at a checkpoint.
