Tensions Erupt in Baghlan Province Between Taliban and Ismaili Community

RASC News Agency: Recent reports indicate that a critical issue in Baghlan province involves land ownership, affecting 70 Ismaili families residing there. The Taliban governor has announced plans to construct a large public vehicle parking facility on this land, which is currently owned by these families.

This action raises significant concerns not only about property rights but also about minority rights and human rights violations, particularly those affecting women and girls. The Afghanistan Embassy in Italy has criticized this forced action by the Taliban, stating that Ismaili families have until the third day of Eid al-Adha to vacate the area.

These measures have sparked widespread reactions from human rights advocates, underscoring serious concerns about minority and women’s rights violations in Afghanistan.
