RASC News Agency: Local sources from Panjshir province report that the Taliban recently arrested a former soldier at the Islam Qala border in Herat province. On Sunday, June 2, sources informed the media that this former soldier has been imprisoned by the Taliban for the past ten days.
The former soldier, known as Saadat Khan, also called Baba Khan, was apprehended by the Taliban after being deported from Iran. Saadat Khan, originally from the village of Anaba in Anaba district, Panjshir province, served as a traffic police officer in the previous government. The family of this former soldier says they have been unable to visit him in Taliban custody for nearly two weeks.
Over the past two weeks, several residents of Panjshir province have been arrested by the Taliban. In a previous incident, the Taliban arrested a former National Directorate of Security officer named Mohammad Ismail from Kabul and transferred him to an undisclosed location.
