RASC News Agency: Local sources from Faryab Province report that the Taliban’s manager of Kabul Bank for the region, recently apprehended for adultery, has been released with the assistance of the group’s criminal director. Sources informed the media on Saturday, May 25th, that the Taliban’s criminal director in Faryab paid 300,000 kabuli rupees to the husband of the woman involved in the adultery case, as well as bribes to the Taliban court, securing the manager’s release.
According to these sources, the Taliban official, upon release, resumed his duties. This incident is not isolated, as several Taliban members previously arrested for moral corruption have also been released without trial after a short period. These revelations come as the Taliban consistently claim to combat moral corruption in society, often punishing individuals with public flogging and summary trials in various provinces.
In response, several citizens have criticized the Taliban’s actions, noting that harsh punishments and summary trials are only enforced on the general populace, while members of the Taliban who commit moral and financial corruption face no consequences.
