RASC News Agency: The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that a female citizen was injured in a shooting on Friday in Bamiyan province. The ministry has urged Lithuanian citizens to avoid traveling to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. In a statement released on Sunday, May 18, the ministry advised Lithuanians against traveling to Afghanistan due to the unstable security situation and the high risk of terrorist attacks.
According to the statement, the condition of the injured Lithuanian citizen is currently stable, and her life is not in danger as a result of the attack. The latest figures released by the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior indicate that the shooting on Friday, May 17, in Bamiyan province resulted in the deaths of three Spaniards and three Afghanistanis and injured seven others, including four foreign nationals.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but the Taliban reported that their security forces have arrested seven individuals in connection with the incident. This incident occurs despite the Taliban’s repeated claims of “comprehensive security” in Afghanistan and their invitations to foreign tourists to visit the country.
However, the recent attack on foreign nationals in Bamiyan has heightened concerns about the safety of tourists in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. Several countries have repeatedly issued statements warning their citizens against traveling to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan due to security concerns and the potential for terrorist attacks.
