RASC News Agency: Protesters in the Argo district of Badakhshan Province have called upon the people of Badakhshan to declare resistance against the “fanatical and terrorist” Taliban group. Residents of the districts of Darym and Argo in Badakhshan Province resumed protests against the Taliban on May 12th.

The call stated: “The terrorist Taliban’s assault on our homes, dignity, and honor in the Argo district has prompted us to rise up and resist against the aggression of this fanatical group.” According to the call, Argo protesters expressed their readiness to sacrifice their lives to defend their dignity and honor.

The call further stated: “We, the people of the Argo district, urge all Muslim and devout people of Afghanistan, especially the brave people of Badakhshan, to rise up against the oppressors and invaders who have attacked our homes, honor, and dignity.” Protesters added that they urge the people of Badakhshan to participate in popular gatherings in the Argo district, both nearby and afar.

The call reads: “Other regions should also rise up and resist against the Taliban group, so that the palace of fanaticism and tyranny collapses.” The Taliban group has deployed fresh forces to Badakhshan Province to suppress these protests and has detained many protesters, while several others have been severely restrained.
