RASC News Agency: Local sources in Takhar province report that Mullah Qureshi, the Taliban’s director of narcotics for the Dasht-e Qala district, and his associates have been released. Sources informed the media on Monday, April 29, that Taliban intelligence forces recently detained them with “several bottles of alcohol,” but they were released from custody three days ago.

According to the information, Mullah Qureshi and his associates were detained by Taliban intelligence forces about two weeks ago. Sources noted that Mullah Qureshi had been previously detained and imprisoned for multiple charges of smuggling and highway robbery but was released once again by the Taliban.

Since the Taliban took control of the country, they have claimed to fight against all forms of corruption and prevent various types of crimes, yet reports suggest an increase in such activities. Furthermore, during their nearly three-year rule, the Taliban have released officials, despite evidence of their crimes in various sectors, without imposing any punishment.
