RASC News Agency: The new documentary “Razor’s Edge of Peace,” directed by Roya Sadat, opens with the harrowing portrayal of an armed attack in August 2020 targeting Fawzia Koofi, a former member of parliament and women’s rights activist in Afghanistan. According to a Reuters report published on Sunday, April 28, the film will premiere at the Hot Docs Documentary Festival in Canada, which runs until May 5 of this year.
The 95-minute film, directed by Roya Sadat, highlights the courage of female leaders in Afghanistan who have fought for change following the Taliban’s resurgence. Roya Sadat, speaking to Reuters, said, “This is a tragedy, but when women participate in protests, one can witness the strength and beauty of this country.”
The report notes that Koofi is a key figure among female negotiators, including Fatima Gailani, Habiba Sarabi, and Sharifa Zurmati, who participated in the Doha talks aimed at achieving a peace agreement with the Taliban. This documentary presents the failed peace negotiations from the perspective of the Afghanistani women’s negotiating team.
