RASC News Agency: Reports from Ghor province in western Afghanistan indicate that Mullah Ahmad Shah Din Dost, the Taliban-appointed governor of Ghor province, has purchased luxurious homes both within and outside of Afghanistan. A knowledgeable source in the province told RASC News Agency today, Saturday, April 27, that the high-ranking Taliban official currently owns a home in Qatar, a home in Dubai, and several homes in Kabul.
The source added that the governor of Ghor withdrew ten million Kabuli rupees from the state treasury and traveled to Pakistan. The source also revealed that Ahmad Shah Din Dost travels to Pakistan and Qatar every two months to coordinate plans with Pakistani and Qatari advisors. Another source in western Afghanistan, who wished to remain anonymous, told RASC News Agency that the governor of Ghor has several wives, one of whom resides in Pakistan with security provided by Pakistani security forces.
According to the source, one of the reasons for Ahmad Shah Din Dost’s frequent trips to Pakistan is related to this matter, although there may be other reasons as well. The source explained that most Taliban clerics organize and devise their main plans outside of Afghanistan, and the governor of Ghor province is among them. Meanwhile, Bahram Fayaz, a civil society activist in Ghor province, told RASC News Agency that the Taliban governor of the province, although seemingly concerned with the welfare and comfort of the people, prioritizes his own personal interests.
According to Fayaz, during his years of military and political activities in this part of western Afghanistan, the high-ranking Taliban official in Ghor province amassed significant wealth. Similarly, Shahab Qayumi, an expert in western Afghanistan, confirmed that the primary residences of senior and high-ranking Taliban officials are in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, while their secondary homes are currently in Afghanistan.
He added that the Taliban place greater importance on the identity and value of Afghanistan. He stated that it is evident to everyone that the Taliban are essentially products of Pakistan and other countries, deployed in Afghanistan to fulfill their mission. Despite extensive efforts, we were unable to obtain comments from Taliban officials in Ghor province.
It is worth noting that Mullah Ahmad Shah Din Dost is considered one of the key figures in Ghor province who, over the years, has established a significant and valuable position for the Taliban.
