RASC News Agency: Reports from Pakistani media indicate that a significant number of individuals have taken to the streets to express their opposition to the recent decision by the Pakistani government to impose limitations on the movement of Afghanistani refugees into the country without proper documentation. Representatives of political parties have voiced their concerns regarding the new border regulations, highlighting the potential negative impact on the livelihoods of approximately 40,000 individuals who rely on these border crossings.
Several Pakistani party leaders have asserted that the movement of residents in the border area of Chaman in Balochistan has been facilitated by their possession of local documents, as their families reside on both sides of the border.
The protesters have declared their intention to sustain their sit-in until their demands are addressed.
It is crucial to acknowledge that the Pakistani government has recently announced the endorsement of a regulation that requires the departure of undocumented immigrants from Pakistan by November 1st, with expulsion being the consequence of non-compliance. This determination is expected to result in the deportation of over one and a half million Afghanistani immigrants.
It is worth mentioning that this decision by the Pakistani government has generated widespread reactions from various countries, which have expressed concerns about the potential threat to the lives of Afghanistani immigrants.
Earlier, the European Union also voiced apprehensions about the situation of immigrants seeking refuge in Pakistan due to their fear of the Taliban, as they now face the risk of deportation.
Despite numerous appeals from the international community and different countries urging Pakistan to reconsider its decision and continue hosting Afghanistani immigrants, Pakistan remains firm in its determination to implement and enforce its plan.
