Traffic Accident on Kabul-Jalalabad Highway Claims Five Lives

RASC News Agency: The spokesperson for the Taliban police in Kabul reports that a traffic accident on the Kabul-Jalalabad highway resulted in the deaths of five individuals and left one person injured. Khalid Zadran, on Thursday, April 25, shared a statement on social media platform X noting that a Corolla vehicle veered off the road in Kabul’s Surobi district and collided with a mountain.

According to Zadran, the injured individual was taken to Kabul for treatment, though he did not specify the exact time of the accident. The deteriorating state and lack of standard roads, driver negligence, disregard for traffic laws, speeding, and unfamiliarity with certain routes are identified as primary causes of traffic accidents in the country.

The Taliban’s General Traffic Department recently announced that during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations this year, 50 people lost their lives and 185 others were injured in various parts of Afghanistan.
