RASC News Agency: Officials from the Taliban’s Ministry for Disaster Management Affairs assert that due to recent heavy rainfall and flooding across the country, 33 individuals have lost their lives, with 27 others sustaining injuries.bJanaan Saeq, the spokesperson for this institution, declared during a press conference in Kabul on Sunday, April 13th, that recent floods in the country have resulted in the loss of 33 lives.
Saigh elaborated that these casualties occurred in provinces such as Badghis, Uruzgan, Farah, Kandahar, Takhar, Zabul, Parwan, Nangarhar, Helmand, Kabul, Khost, Daykundi, Konar, Kapisa, Paktia, Paktika, Logar, Laghman, and Herat due to the floods. The Ministry’s spokesperson under Taliban rule stated, “As a consequence of these floods, 606 houses, 1,950 acres of agricultural land, and 85 kilometers of road have been destroyed, and additionally, 200 livestock have perished, with over a thousand families affected.”
The affected residents of these floods allege that the Taliban group has yet to provide any assistance, questioning the allocation of the funds given to the Taliban weekly. These floods, besides resulting in loss of life and financial damages, have also led to the blockage of transportation routes in several provinces of the country.
Severe rainfall and flooding have previously claimed the lives of several citizens in the country. Last year, in the month of Par, the Taliban’s Ministry for Disaster Management Affairs also reported that due to heavy snowfall, rain, and cold weather, 60 individuals lost their lives in the country.
