RASC News Agency: Nasir Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan’s representative at the United Nations, recently declared that Afghanistan under the Taliban’s control is caught in a downward spiral, with “the erosion of progress in Afghanistan and the country’s transformation into a hotbed of extremism and terrorism” being observed.
Faiq articulated these sentiments on Saturday, April 13th, marking “World Human Spaceflight Day” in a message on the social media platform X. He highlighted that currently, the people of Afghanistan are bereft of their fundamental human and Islamic rights, encompassing economic, social, cultural, and political rights.
Faiq also voiced optimism that “a democratic, unified, inclusive, and sovereign Afghanistan, devoid of ignorance, bias, and extremism,” will regain prominence on the global stage.
This coincides with regional and global concerns repeatedly voiced regarding the presence and activities of terrorist groups in Afghanistan under Taliban governance. Nevertheless, the Taliban have consistently brushed aside these concerns as unsubstantiated.
