Taliban in Kunduz Distribute Half of Humanitarian Aid Offered by Relief Organization to Their Members

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Kunduz province assert that half of the 250 food packages from an international relief organization known as “CSI” were misappropriated by the Taliban for their own benefit. Sources disclosed to the media on Monday, April 1st, that these aid packages were designated for distribution to the needy in downtown Kunduz yesterday.

However, according to sources, nearly 50 of these food packages were allocated to Taliban members by the Foreign Affairs Department in Kunduz, and several others were confiscated by the provincial representative. Furthermore, sources indicate that an additional 40 food packages were distributed to individuals and their associates by the management of the “Spin Zar Hotel.”

Kunduz is not the only province where residents endure a lack of humanitarian aid due to Taliban corruption; grievances about unfair distribution have been voiced by residents across various provinces. Restrictions on the operations and activities of relief organizations, compounded by reports of pervasive corruption in the distribution process by Taliban officials in different provinces, have led to a decline in the operations of relief organizations.
