RASC News Agency: Mohammed bin Abdulaziz, Qatar’s Foreign Minister, has described the third Doha meeting as an “important opportunity for meaningful dialogue.” In a statement, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz said, “Qatar is ready to make continuous efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Afghanistani people.”
He emphasized that his country supports any regional and global efforts to ensure stability and security in Afghanistan. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Doha meeting yesterday, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz noted that the third meeting continues the efforts of the first and second meetings to find common ways to cooperate with Afghanistan.
It is noteworthy that women’s rights organizations and human rights groups have widely protested this meeting due to the lack of discussion on human rights, especially women’s rights, and the absence of their representatives on the agenda. Several women’s rights activists have boycotted the meeting. Today, Afghanistani citizens residing in Canada also held a protest, calling on global nations to “boycott” the Doha meeting. They accused the meeting of whitewashing the Taliban and stated that such meetings are “invalid.”
The protesting Afghanistani citizens in their resolution stated: “Any outcome of the Doha meeting is invalid due to the absence of representatives from Afghanistani women and civil society.” Afghanistani women have also boycotted the meeting, declaring that the third Doha meeting is akin to negotiating with terrorists. Some invited women, including Zubaida Akbar and Nabila Mosleh, did not attend and called for a boycott of the meeting.
It is worth noting that the second day of the Doha meeting began minutes ago and is scheduled to continue until 3 PM local time.
