OCHA: Intense Rainfall in the Nation Ravages More Than a Thousand Acres of Land

RASC News Agency: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that recent heavy rainfall in seven provinces of the country has led to the loss of one thousand five hundred acres of agricultural land and the destruction of 540 houses.

 

According to the OCHA report released on Saturday, March 30th, most of the financial damages have affected the residents of Faryab, Nangarhar, and Daykundi provinces. These natural disasters have resulted in the loss of at least seven lives.

 

On Mar 2, the Taliban also stated that over the past year, 1,129 individuals lost their lives due to natural disasters, and 941 others were injured.

 

Information indicates that the majority of casualties and financial losses have affected the residents of Kabul, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Herat, Badakhshan, Helmand, Ghor, Laghman, Oruzgan, Zabul, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, and Samangan provinces.
