RASC News Agency: Amnesty International asserts that the scheme to repatriate undocumented foreign nationals by Iranian and Pakistani authorities, encompassing holders of temporary residence documents, constitutes the most egregious violation of the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan. The organization voiced its concerns on Wednesday night, Mar 27, through its X page regarding the expulsion of Afghanistani migrants from Iran and Pakistan and the potential infringement of the rights of migrant women and girls.
Amnesty International has affirmed that the decision for mass expulsion, particularly impacting migrants, women, and girls, journalists, human rights defenders, protesting women, religious minorities, artists, and officials from the previous government who fled due to fear of the Taliban, is deeply troubling. While a specific date for the commencement of the second phase of expelling Afghanistani migrants from Pakistan has yet to be announced, the process of expelling Afghanistani migrants from Iran is largely occurring outside of media coverage in Iran.
During the New Year holidays, the trend of expelling migrants has intensified, and Iranian authorities have indicated that the plan for mass expulsion of unauthorized nationals will proceed uninterrupted with the coordination of all relevant entities. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), approximately 2.18 million Afghanistani migrants possess documentation in Pakistan, and around 4.26 million Afghanistani migrants reside in Iran.
