RASC News Agency: Sources from Daykundi province report that significant casualties and damages have occurred to the residents of the area following the inundation of floods in six districts of this province. Local sources informed Rask news agency today, Thursday, Mar 28, that heavy rainfall and flooding in the districts of Oshtorli, Pato, Kajran, Miramow, Shahrestan, and Sangtakht-e Bandar have caused substantial financial losses to the residents of these districts.
Sources added that residential houses, farmlands, and trees have been destroyed or swept away as a result of these floods. According to statistics from local Taliban authorities, so far, 20 residential houses have been demolished, and 56 others have been damaged. Additionally, 101 hectares of agricultural land, 1739 trees, five bridges, and 92 kilometers of roads have been destroyed or damaged in this province.
Local sources state that Taliban officials have not provided assistance or support to the affected people of these floods so far. Similarly, reports of 80 cattle casualties have been reported by the residents of the area in the early hours of this incident. Previously, floods have also caused casualties and damages in Faryab, Sar-e Pol, and Badghis provinces.
It is noteworthy that the Taliban’s meteorological department, today, in an announcement on its official X page, has informed about the possibility of rain and snowfall in 33 provinces of the country, including Daykundi.
