RASC News Agency: Taliban intelligence operatives in Takhar province reportedly fatally shot a merchant who owed their leader three million Kabuli rupees, as per local sources. Media reports received information from local sources on Monday, March 18th, indicating that Taliban intelligence forces, led by Shah Wali, raided the residence of a merchant named Shah Wali two weeks ago. They ambushed him as he left his home for prayers.

Sources revealed that Shah Wali, a resident of the Uzbek ethnic village of Pustkhor in the city center of Taluqan, Takhar province, was besieged in his home by Taliban intelligence forces and subsequently shot dead. Additionally, sources mentioned that Taliban intelligence forces detained several individuals who were guests at Shah Wali’s residence after 6:00 a.m., alleging that the house harbored ISIS members.

However, another source disclosed, “Following the incident, the Taliban departed, and Shah Wali, critically injured, was transported to Takhar Central Hospital by local residents. Prior to his demise, he disclosed that the Taliban intelligence chief owed him three million Kabuli rupees and attacked his home for this reason.” According to this account, Shah Wali was a merchant in Takhar, involved in transporting goods between Kunduz and Takhar to Badakhshan, exchanging them for raw gold, and had no affiliations with any group or organization.

It’s worth noting that the head of Taliban intelligence in Takhar hails from Maidan Wardak province and is of Pashtun ethnicity, with numerous locals accusing him of oppressive conduct towards the populace.
