RASC News Agency: Local Taliban authorities in Balkh have recently reported that due to recent snowstorms, eight thousand and eighty-three heads of livestock have perished in the province. The Taliban provincial governor’s office for Balkh province stated on Sunday, Mar 3, that this number of livestock has died in the districts of Chimtal, Marmul, Alborz, Keshendi, Char Bolak, Kaldar, Char Kint, Dehdadi, Shortepa, Sholgarah, and Chahi in this province.

Meanwhile, according to information received from local Taliban authorities, the majority of livestock casualties occurred in the districts of Chimtal, Marmul, and Alborz.

The Taliban provincial governor’s office in Balkh further added that the blockade of transportation routes due to snowstorms and the unavailability of fodder has led to the death of these livestock.

This occurs as several provinces of the country have experienced heavy snowfall in the past week, resulting in the loss of thousands of heads of livestock.
