RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced the reopening of Herat International Airport for flights after a three-day closure. Herat International Airport resumed flights today, Friday, Mar 1.
Imamuddin Ahmadi, the Taliban ministry’s spokesperson, stated that following the cessation of snowfall, the runway and other sections of Herat International Airport have been cleared and are ready for flights. Herat Airport had been closed to flights for three days due to heavy snowfall, limited visibility, and icing.
This development coincides with heavy snowfall experienced in several provinces across the country in recent days, leading to the closure of some transportation routes.
It is noteworthy that occasional heavy snowfalls and storms during the winter season often result in the closure of transportation routes in several provinces.
