National Resistance Council Urges the Revocation of the Doha Agreement

RASC News Agency: In tandem with a widespread surge of reactions regarding the Doha Agreement and its repercussions for Afghanistan, the National Resistance Council has recently asserted that this accord has become the bedrock for the present state of the country, prompting a call for its annulment.

In a statement issued by the council on Friday, Mar 1, it was conveyed that the Doha Agreement transcended mere legitimation, extending to endorse an “extremist and anti-nationalist group” crafted through the collaboration of Zalmay Khalilzad and elements within the former government. As per the statement, the National Resistance Council not only advocates for the rescission of the Doha Agreement but also contends that the current situation necessitates a departure from the trajectory of a national consensus process to salvage Afghanistan.

The council’s proclamation underscored the imperative of constituting an inclusive government derived from the collective will of the people, cautioning that the perpetuation of this circumstance would increasingly position Afghanistan as a source for the promotion and export of regional and global terrorism. Meanwhile, the White House proclaimed that the Doha Agreement had enfeebled the country’s collaborators in Afghanistan, and the US State Department asserted that the Taliban had not adhered to their commitments in this agreement.

Nevertheless, Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesman, asserted that the Doha Agreement had culminated the war in Afghanistan, yet America had not acted upon it.
