RASC News Agency: Stephane Dujarric, the spokesperson for the United Nations, recently denounced the recent executions of suspects by the Taliban group, branding these acts as “utterly reprehensible.” He made these remarks on Monday, Feb 26, emphasizing, “Public executions are deeply appalling and abhorrent, and the United Nations staunchly opposes the Taliban’s execution of suspects.”

The spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General further elaborated that the process of appointing a special representative of the organization for Afghanistan under the Taliban’s rule is still underway, and once appointed, their name will be disclosed to the public. Mr. Dujarric underscored the seriousness with which the United Nations is approaching the appointment of the special representative.

He also highlighted that Rosemary DiCarlo, the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General, presented the second report of the Doha meeting on peace and political affairs to the United Nations Security Council. This development coincides with Taliban officials’ repeated objections to the appointment of a UN special representative for Afghanistan under their governance, contending that such appointments should be reserved for countries currently in conflict.

It is noteworthy that in recent days, the Taliban group executed two murder suspects in Ghazni province and one murder suspect in Sheberghan, the capital of Jowzjan province, with the endorsement of Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of this group.
