RASC News Agency: Former Minister of Justice, Fazl Ahmad Manawi, recently asserted that the Taliban’s actions bear a closer resemblance to the ignorance of pre-Islamic Arabs than to the tenets of pristine Islam as preached by Muhammad. He made these assertions on Monday, Feb 26, via a message posted on the social media platform X.
Manawi further elaborated that the oppressive Taliban issue new directives targeting women daily, with the aim of constraining their lives. He continued by expressing uncertainty about the ultimate consequences of these restrictions. Continuing his discourse, Manawi emphasized that resisting the oppression and ignorance of the Taliban is a collective obligation of Afghanistani citizens.
Manawi’s statements come at a time when the Taliban, having seized control of the country, have deprived women of employment and education under the guise of adhering to Islamic Sharia laws. Under the Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan, the freedoms of all citizens, particularly women, girls, and youth, have been curtailed, with the group imposing restrictions across all aspects of citizens’ lives.
