RASC News Agency: The World Food Programme has recently announced that one-third of Afghanistan’s population is facing hunger and food shortages following the Taliban’s takeover of the country. The World Food Programme stated on Wednesday, Feb 21, on its X social network that poverty and severe unemployment threaten the Afghanistani people.

The program further stated, “Afghanistan is not just 100 people; it’s 43 million individuals, with one-third of them grappling with hunger.” This comes as poverty and unemployment have surged in Afghanistan since the Taliban took power, increasing the country’s dependence on humanitarian aid.

It is noteworthy that poverty and unemployment in Afghanistan have driven a significant number of its citizens to migrate to neighboring countries like Iran and Pakistan to meet their basic life needs.
