RASC News Agency: Officials at Kabul University have announced the commencement of in-person classes for students at the university. According to a written directive from the Office of Student Affairs at Kabul University, student classes in all faculties of the university commenced in person on Tuesday, Feb 20.
The directive stipulates that for one month, student classes at the university will proceed “seriously and intensively.” While the directive does not mention the presence or absence of female students, it has been more than two years since girls above the sixth grade have been deprived of education.
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, commented on the latest move by the Taliban, stating that the prohibition of girls from education, study, and work in Afghanistan is an unjust act. He added that he urges the Taliban to lift this prohibition and allow women and girls in Afghanistan under their rule to have meaningful participation in all aspects of life.
It is noteworthy that the prohibition of girls from education and work has elicited widespread domestic and international reactions, and international bodies and authorities have repeatedly called on this group to lift the ban, but the Taliban have shown no flexibility on this issue.
