RASC News Agency: According to local sources in Herat province, a member of the Taliban executed a young girl following a coerced marriage. Reports from Herat province relayed to the media on Tuesday, Feb 13, revealed that the aforementioned incident transpired yesterday within the fourteenth district of the province.

As per the sources, the Taliban operative strangled his spouse and endeavored to conceal her remains by burial. However, the victim’s kin became aware of the situation and prevented the Taliban member from interring their daughter. Furthermore, a Herat province informant alleged that the young girl had been employed within a governmental entity during the previous administration, and her sibling compelled her into marriage with a member of the Taliban faction just a few days ago.

Nevertheless, a relative of the victim disclosed to the media that the individual in question strangled the girl yesterday morning, and they apprehended her husband during the burial rites. They conveyed that the girl’s remains were transferred from the Taliban’s secured zone to the forensic medicine department of the regional hospital in Herat.

The Taliban contingent in Herat province has refrained from issuing a statement concerning this occurrence. Meanwhile, incidents of violence against women have surged across various provinces subsequent to the Taliban assuming control. It merits mentioning that Taliban members have previously enforced marriages upon young girls across several provinces, leveraging their authority for personal gain or that of their associates.
