RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s Invitation and Guidance Directorate of the Ministry of Finance has urged departments within its ministry to ensure that the “conduct and appearance” of their employees align with Sharia law and that they observe their prayers punctually. According to a letter from the Taliban group within this ministry, which was disclosed to the media on Monday, Feb 5, the Taliban’s office cautioned that failure to comply with these directives would result in employees bearing responsibility for consequences.
This letter, issued by the head of the Taliban’s Invitation and Guidance Directorate of the Ministry of Finance, was distributed to departments within the ministry a week ago. As per the letter, the leader of the Taliban group and the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice of this group have urged all offices associated with this ministry to ensure that “a certain percentage of their employees have been reformed in conduct and appearance.”
The Taliban’s Invitation and Guidance Directorate of the Ministry of Finance has cautioned all officials to adhere to “tradition” in their appearance. This directive comes amid the Taliban group’s reassertion of control over the country, leading to the imposition of numerous restrictions on people’s attire, particularly government office employees, with continuous monitoring for compliance.
Over the past two years, the Taliban has curtailed citizens’ fundamental freedoms, including freedom of movement, freedom of belief and thought, freedom of dress, and other liberties, with this trend intensifying daily.
