The bitter historical facts cannot be disregarded, says Saleh

RASC News Agency: Amrullah Saleh, the former vice president of the nation, has underscored the undeniable capabilities of the United States in projecting power, engaging in warfare, and escalating ongoing conflicts. However, he asserts that we must not overlook the harsh realities of history. These statements were conveyed by Saleh on the X social media platform yesterday, January 29th.

Saleh highlights that the US has placed a $10 million bounty on Sirajuddin Haqqani’s head while simultaneously sending $60 million in cash to Kabul every week to solidify their influence. Expanding on his message, Saleh underscores that the enduring concern for America lies in the Doha agreement with the Taliban and the weekly financial support of $60 million, which bolsters the group’s authority.

Expressing astonishment, the former vice president recalls the infamous escalation strategy employed by Obama from 2010 to 2014, as well as the ignominious withdrawal of US forces from Bagram Air Base. Saleh further notes that despite these circumstances, a $10 million reward for Sarajuddin Haqqani remains in place, despite his alleged benefit from the weekly $60 million.

It is worth mentioning that the United States’ practice of sending substantial amounts of cash to Afghanistan during the Taliban’s rule has faced criticism. However, the Taliban group has denied having access to this money.
