RASC News Agency: A human rights organization, recognized as the “Union of Human Rights Activists,” has issued a response to recent statements by Asim Munir, the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army, asserting that the people of Afghanistan hold no “historical or contemporary affiliation” with the Taliban group and its ideological framework. In a statement released by the Union of Human Rights Activists on Saturday, January 27, the organization condemned the remarks made by the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army regarding Afghanistan as “irresponsible.”
The statement issued by the Union of Human Rights Activists highlights that the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army has “directed remarks towards the Taliban” in his recent statements, which has “injured the sentiments” of the Afghanistani populace. According to the observations of this organization, the Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army “may err as a human, but holds the highest military authority in Pakistan, and his statements cannot be disregarded by any populace.”
The organization has cautioned that the persistence of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan could present a threat to the security of the Pakistani government. It is of significance that General Asim Munir, in his latest pronouncements, emphasized that the life of a Pakistani surpasses the entirety of Afghanistan and suggested that when safeguarding Pakistan’s security, the entirety of Afghanistan could be obliterated.
