RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Taliban group made an announcement on Thursday, January 25th, via the X social media platform regarding the arrival of a delegation from Kyrgyzstan led by Daniyar Amangeldiev, the Minister of Economy and Trade. The delegation, consisting of seven members, has arrived in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The purpose of this visit, as stated by the Taliban group on social media, is to enhance trade relations between the two parties.
Despite the economic challenges faced by Afghanistan since the Taliban assumed control of the country, the group has extended an official invitation to the Kyrgyzstan delegation. The economic situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated, even though Taliban officials claim significant revenues from sectors such as mining. The United Nations has conducted a review of Afghanistan’s economy during the two years of Taliban rule, revealing a concerning level of “stability” that necessitates foreign investment and international aid.
The lack of economic growth in Afghanistan under the Taliban’s rule can be attributed to various factors. These include restrictions on banking, disruptions in trade and transit, isolation of government institutions, and a dearth of foreign investment in the industrial and agricultural sectors. To overcome these challenges, Afghanistan needs to attract foreign investment and receive support from the international community in order to revive its economy.
