RASC News Agency: The European Integration Institute recently inaugurated a program with the objective of delivering complimentary online education in twelve foreign languages to Afghanistani girls. Petoni Taishman, the institution’s leader, declared on January 21st that over a thousand female students have already availed themselves of the opportunity to acquire proficiency in these languages through this educational initiative.
The languages encompassed by the program include English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Turkish, and Korean. Ms. Taishman underscored the significance of online education in fostering more readily available learning avenues for girls and highlighted the overwhelming response, with over eight thousand applicants for the program from both male and female students.
During her address, Mrs. Taishman urged other institutions to collaborate in providing educational and employment opportunities for girls. This initiative assumes paramount importance at a juncture when the Taliban’s constraints have severely curtailed girls’ access to education in Afghanistan. Prohibitions extend to girls beyond the sixth grade attending school, and universities have closed their doors to them. Despite these formidable challenges, the European Integration Institute’s program aspires to empower Afghanistani girls by endowing them with language proficiency capable of expanding their horizons and unlocking doors to future opportunities.
The commencement of this program constitutes a momentous stride in confronting the educational impediments faced by Afghanistani girls. Through the provision of complimentary online language courses, the European Integration Institute not only imparts valuable skills but also champions inclusivity and gender equality.
