RASC News Agency: The Taliban group has garnered significant attention for its involvement in constructing mosques and religious schools. Recently, the group’s officials announced the oversight of the construction of 76 mosques along the highways of Afghanistan. Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban group, conveyed this information on the X social media platform. He stated that the directive to build these mosques came directly from the group’s leader, with plans for construction at a distance of 70 kilometers from the country’s highways.

According to Mujahid, these mosques will feature separate areas for men and women to pray, along with amenities such as hot and cold water, space for the Mullah Imam, electricity, parking, and a park. The goal is to establish up to eight standard mosques in every province of the country. Although Mujahid did not disclose the cost and timeline for the construction of these mosques, the Acting Minister of Public Works for the Taliban group mentioned during the inauguration of a mosque in the Daman district of Kandahar province that the funding for these mosques will come from internal (Afghanistan) sources.

The Ministry of Public Works of the Taliban group has revealed plans to construct 75 mosques. This commitment to mosque construction has been a longstanding priority for the Taliban, both before and after their control over the country. They have consistently emphasized the establishment of religious schools and mosques across various regions of Afghanistan. It is crucial to acknowledge that the Taliban group is actively engaged in building mosques and religious schools with great determination. Their intention behind these endeavors is to utilize these places as platforms to influence people’s perspectives and encourage alignment with their ideologies and activities.
