RASC News Agency: The Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Kabul recently urged athletes to adhere to Sharia-compliant attire during physical activities. A newsletter issued on January 3rd emphasized the need for appropriate clothing, specifically cautioning against exposing private parts. However, the newsletter lacks clarity on the definition of “private parts,” focusing solely on athletes’ adherence to Islamic clothing standards.

In a separate incident on January 2nd, Mohammad Khaled Hanafi called upon traders to avoid importing tight and thin garments contrary to Islamic Sharia. This directive, issued by the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, has imposed various restrictions on the Afghanistani population, particularly affecting women and girls’ participation in sports. It is crucial to recognize that the Taliban’s Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice consistently enforces its rules with authority over the people of Afghanistan. Throughout their two-year rule, the Taliban has persistently sought to implement their ideologies within the country.

The Taliban group has a history of issuing decrees that restrict citizens’ personal freedoms. On numerous occasions, they have imposed restrictions infringing upon individuals’ basic rights, all in an effort to enforce their extremist ideology and policies.
