RASC News Agency: Recent reports from local sources in Nangarhar province unveil yet another enigmatic murder, adding to the alarming series of targeted killings plaguing the nation. The victim, a child named Mohammad Elias, disappeared on December 21st from the vicinity of the Eidgah Mosque in the fourth district of Jalalabad city. Subsequently, his lifeless body was discovered, bearing signs of torture that point to a brutally demise.

The identity of the perpetrator and the motives behind this act remain shrouded in mystery. However, indications suggest that Mohammad Elias was abducted before meeting his end. Alarmingly, no communication transpired between the kidnappers and the victim’s family following his disappearance. Despite the escalating criminal activities, encompassing targeted murders, armed robberies, and kidnappings in various provinces, particularly in Nangarhar, the Taliban group in Nangarhar province has refrained from issuing any statement on this incident.

In a preceding occurrence, a businessman faced abduction outside his residence in Jalalabad city, the provincial epicenter of Nangarhar. Additionally, there appears to be a dearth of institutions specifically designed to address such cases. Local residents frequently point accusatory fingers at members of the Taliban group, alleging their involvement in these criminal activities—essentially positing that those responsible for maintaining law and order are, in fact, complicit in these crimes. The situation remains dire as the nation grapples with an escalating wave of violence and insecurity.

Despite the Taliban’s assurances of providing security, the country’s security situation remains disconcerting, underscored by the recent surge in enigmatic and mysterious murders. These incidents underscore the mounting security challenges that demand urgent attention from the authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizenry.
