RASC News Agency: In the recent discourse by Anwar ul Haq Kakar, the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s interim government, it has been asserted that, during the two-year rule of the Taliban in Afghanistan, 16 Afghanistani migrants in Pakistan carried out suicide attacks. According to reports, Kakar’s pronouncements were published on Sunday, December 17, in the English newspaper Telegraph and disseminated widely. Kakar additionally conveyed that 16 Afghanistani refugees in border areas engaged in confrontations with Pakistani forces.
Kakar articulated, “Every time we engage in dialogue with the Taliban, they counsel us to introspect. Ultimately, we have resolved to heed their counsel and implement internal measures.” This assertion coincides with previous declarations by Pakistani authorities, emphasizing that, with the ascendancy of the Taliban in Afghanistan, the frequency of terrorist activities in Pakistan has surged. Contrastingly, Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban’s spokesperson, consistently rebuts such statements, contending that the Taliban and the people of Afghanistan are not accountable for ensuring security in Pakistan; rather, Pakistan must safeguard its own safety.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan has forcibly expelled Afghanistani refugees for nearly two months, resulting in the expulsion of approximately 500,000 Afghanistani migrants from Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan contends it is expelling Afghanistani refugees to proactively prevent terrorist attacks in the country, with the goal of thwarting or minimizing terrorist assaults. Pakistan has historically maintained warm and robust relations with the Taliban; however, of late, these relations have chilled due to the escalation of terrorist attacks in Pakistan and the compelled expulsion of Afghanistani refugees.
