RASC News Agency: As per reports from Pakistani media, there has been a recent surge in the forced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan, with the government repatriating 1,854 individuals to Afghanistan in a single day. The Frontier Post disclosed that this group, comprising 235 families of Afghanistani refugees, faced forced expulsion on Friday, December 15th, ultimately returning to Afghanistan via border crossings. Despite repeated calls from international entities urging Pakistan to cease the forced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees, the Pakistani government persists in this process, ejecting thousands of refugees on a daily basis.
According to Pakistani officials, since the initiation of the forced expulsion of Afghanistani refugees, the country has repatriated 433,518 individuals, either forcibly or voluntarily. Reports indicate that the practice of expelling all illegal refugees continues. This unfolds against the backdrop of a significant number of Afghanistani citizens seeking refuge in Pakistan for diverse reasons, such as fear of the Taliban group, economic challenges, and ongoing asylum in third countries, following the Taliban Group’s assumption of power. Simultaneously, in addition to Pakistan, Iran—another neighboring country that has hosted Afghanistani refugees for years—has recently escalated the process of forcibly expelling these refugees, imposing stricter measures across various provinces.
Reports underscore that, coinciding with the onset of winter, international organizations have consistently sounded alarms about the plight of Afghanistani refugees expelled from Pakistan, underscoring the potential hardships they may encounter in Afghanistan during the harsh winter season.
