RASC News Agency: According to local sources in Parwan province, a young man in the region recently took his own life by consuming “rat poison,” bringing an end to his existence. Reports from Parwan province conveyed to the media on Sunday, December 17th, revealed that this incident unfolded last night in the Munara area of the Jabul-Siraj district. The young man named, Nisar Ahmad Naderi, took this drastic step, and though the exact motive behind his suicide remains unclear, sources assert that his proposal was rejected by the family of his beloved. Consequently, he ingested “rat poison,” leading to a fatal outcome.
Sources further indicate that the young man succumbed to the poison on his way to the hospital. Meanwhile, the Taliban group in Parwan province has refrained from providing any comments on this incident. This incident occurs against the backdrop of an alarming increase in suicide rates among citizens, particularly affecting young individuals and women across various provinces of the country following the Taliban’s assumption of power. Experts point to factors such as heightened poverty, escalating unemployment, coerced marriages, familial violence, mental health issues, and the repressive constraints imposed by the Taliban group as significant contributors to the surge in suicide rates nationwide.
Despite the challenges, some experts propose that implementing mental health initiatives, offering employment and educational opportunities for the youth, and fostering public awareness to mitigate family violence could pave the way for progress in alleviating this concerning phenomenon.
