RASC News Agency: The Save the Children Fund has recently published a report shedding light on the deteriorating conditions faced by Afghanistani children due to severe poverty and unemployment. According to the report, an alarming 16 million individuals in Afghanistan, predominantly children, will be impacted by a severe hunger crisis by March of the following year. The fund meticulously examined the current situation in the country and underscored that the combination of winter and unemployment has further aggravated the economic crisis, raising concerns about the future.
The report unveils the distressing possibility that one in every three Afghanistani children will experience hunger in the coming year. This is particularly alarming considering the escalating levels of poverty and unemployment in Afghanistan over the past two years, which have pushed the country’s economic crisis to its peak. Moreover, the forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees from neighboring countries has only added to this dire situation. Many households near the border have voiced grievances about the deplorable living conditions they are compelled to endure.
Furthermore, another concerning aspect highlighted in the report is the increase in the number of street children during the two years of Taliban rule in Afghanistan. This circumstance has resulted in a significant number of these children falling behind in their education. The combination of poverty, unemployment, and lack of access to education paints a bleak picture for the future of Afghanistani children. Urgent action is needed to address these issues and provide the necessary support to alleviate the suffering of these vulnerable children.
