RASC News Agency: In a recent development, Turkey has once again announced the arrest of 156 Afghanistani refugees, following their forced deportation from the country. Turkish media outlets reported on Wednesday, November 29th, that these refugees were apprehended in separate operations conducted over the past two days in the cities of Van, Osmaniye, and Agra. Alongside these arrests, 16 individuals were also taken into custody on charges of “human trafficking.” After undergoing necessary procedures, the asylum seekers were handed over to the immigration offices in Van, Osmaniye, and Aghra cities, as per reports obtained by Turkish media.
This incident comes in the wake of previous reports regarding the arrest and deportation of Afghanistani immigrants from Turkey. Notably, the forced deportation of Afghanistani refugees from Iran and Pakistan has also witnessed a surge in recent times. Over the past two years, there has been a significant increase in the migration of Afghanistani citizens, particularly the youth, to countries like Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, and various European nations. Experts attribute this rise to factors such as poverty, unemployment, the prevailing situation in Afghanistan, restrictions imposed on young people, and the fear instilled by the Taliban group.
It is crucial to highlight the ongoing challenges faced by Afghanistani citizens, which have prompted them to seek refuge in other countries. The international community must address the root causes of migration, including poverty, unemployment, and the security situation in Afghanistan. Efforts should be made to provide assistance and support to Afghanistani refugees, ensuring their safety and well-being. Additionally, cooperation between nations is essential to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
