RASC News Agency: The Department of Statistics and Information of the Taliban recently made an announcement regarding the distribution of electronic identity cards to Afghanistani citizens. As per the newsletter released by this Taliban group office on Sunday, November 26th, a total of 320,146 Afghanistani citizens have been provided with electronic ID cards within a single month of this year.
The newsletter from the Taliban administration highlights that the majority of electronic identity cards have been distributed in the city of Kabul, with a staggering number of 64,000 cards issued. This contradicts the earlier assurance given by the head of the Statistics and Information Department of the Taliban group, who had promised to expedite the process of issuing electronic ID cards to address the concerns of applicants.
It is worth mentioning that Afghanistani citizens had previously expressed their grievances regarding the delay in the distribution of electronic ID cards and had urged the Taliban group to prioritize this matter. Furthermore, it is important to note that since the Taliban assumed control of the country, the distribution of electronic passports and identity cards has witnessed a significant decrease, albeit with some technical difficulties.
Additionally, reports have surfaced claiming that the Taliban group has engaged in fraudulent practices during the distribution process, with many of the identity cards containing counterfeit barcodes originating from Pakistan. These actions by the Taliban group have raised suspicions about their motives and their exploitation of the identity card system for personal gain.
