RASC News Agency: Following the widely publicized reports of the arrest of Parisa Azada, a prominent activist fighting for women’s rights in Afghanistan, the human rights organization known as “Freedom Now” issued a statement yesterday, urging for the immediate release of Afghanistani women’s rights activists who are currently detained by the Taliban. Expressing deep concern, the organization took to the social network, emphasizing the uncertainty surrounding the condition of Parisa Azada and other imprisoned women protesters.

“Freedom Now” highlighted that Neda Parwani, Julia Parsi, along with their family members, have been held captive by the Taliban for over a month, along with Manizha Sediqi. The lack of information about their well-being is alarming. The human rights organization firmly demanded that the Taliban cease their attacks on activists and called for the immediate release of these women. It is crucial to emphasize that Parisa Azada is the fourth woman to be apprehended by the Taliban within the past two months in Kabul province. Prior to her arrest, Manizha Sediqi, Neda Parwani, and Julia Parsi were forcibly taken to undisclosed locations, leaving their families and supporters in a state of distress.

Reports have indicated that the women protesters have been subjected to severe torture, humiliation, and mistreatment while in the custody of the Taliban. It is important to note that since the Taliban assumed power in Afghanistan, they have consistently targeted, abused, imprisoned, and even killed women activists in an attempt to suppress the voices of Afghanistani women through force and intimidation.
