RASC News Agency: According to Al Jazeera news agency, In a bid to address the ongoing crises in Ukraine, Israel, and Gaza, US President Joe Biden has urgently requested a substantial allocation of $105 billion from Congress. Of this amount, more than $9 billion would be allocated for crucial humanitarian aid in these regions.
President Biden, who recently visited Tel Aviv amidst the Israel-Hamas conflict, emphasized the significance of providing assistance to Ukraine and Israel. During his speech on October 18th, he appealed to Congress to pass a comprehensive spending package to address the pressing needs of these nations.
On Friday, the White House presented its funding request, underscoring the direct connection between the security of the United States and the well-being of Ukraine and Israel. “This budget request is paramount for advancing America’s national security and safeguarding the American people,” emphasized National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan during a news briefing, echoing President Biden’s remarks.
The urgency of the situation is evident as Israel’s bombardment of the besieged Gaza Strip persists in response to a lethal Hamas attack in southern Israel, claiming the lives of over 1,400 individuals as reported by Israeli authorities. In contrast, the Palestinian Ministry of Health has stated that the Israeli bombing has resulted in the deaths of 4,137 people, exacerbating the already critical humanitarian circumstances in Gaza. Medical personnel in the region are desperately appealing for fuel and much-needed assistance that has yet to materialize.
Consequently, the Israeli campaign has sparked widespread protests throughout the Middle East region, and critics have accused the United States of turning a blind eye to flagrant violations of international law.
