RASC News Agency: The World Food Program has officially announced the commencement of the food assistance distribution process for the victims affected by the devastating earthquake in Herat province. This significant initiative was made public on Monday, October 9, as the global program launched its mission to provide essential sustenance to those impacted in the western region of Afghanistan.
Each aid package, meticulously assembled by the organization, contains vital food items including flour, oil, beans, and salt. These provisions are designed to sustain a family of seven for an entire month, offering a lifeline to those struggling amidst the aftermath of the earthquake.
In a remarkable show of solidarity, Japan, China, and Turkey have also expressed their willingness to extend crucial humanitarian aid to the victims. Their support will undoubtedly bolster the on-ground efforts and provide further relief to those affected by this tragic event.
Concurrently, the compassionate assistance from Hussain Amir Abdolahian has also been announced. Abdolahian has declared the deployment of a dedicated rescue team to aid the victims and alleviate their suffering in Herat province.
It is essential to acknowledge the ongoing campaign launched across multiple provinces in the country with the aim of collecting humanitarian assistance for the affected individuals. The tremendous efforts of this campaign demonstrate the unity and resolve of the Afghanistani people to support and uplift their fellow citizens in times of crisis.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the World Food Program has consistently demonstrated its commitment to providing humanitarian aid to the underprivileged in Afghanistan on numerous occasions. This commitment has proven instrumental in addressing the critical needs of vulnerable populations across the country.
According to available information, the earthquake that struck Herat province on Saturday tragically claimed the lives of 2,600 individuals, leaving many more injured and requiring medical attention. Reports from the affected province indicate that as a consequence of this natural disaster, 12 villages have been completely destroyed, resulting in several families becoming trapped beneath the debris.
Given Afghanistan’s location within an earthquake-prone region and the economic challenges faced by its inhabitants, constructing disaster-resistant homes is often beyond their means. Consequently, such calamities inevitably lead to extensive destruction and loss.
In light of these circumstances, the World Food Program’s swift and decisive action, in conjunction with the support of international partners, is a beacon of hope for those affected by this tragedy. By working together, we can alleviate the suffering of the victims and strive towards a brighter future for Afghanistan.
