RASC News Agency: U.S. Special Representative for Women and Human Rights for Afghanistan Rina Amiri said that women and civil activists in Afghanistan should participate in Afghanistan-related meetings, particularly those in which the Taliban is invited.
Amiri issued a statement on Friday, September 29, on X social media following the Moscow format meeting last night about Afghanistan, calling on the international community to take a different approach to the issue.
The United States Special Representative for Women and Human Rights for Afghanistan has been engaged in a dialogue on Afghanistan with many world leaders in various meetings over the past month.
At these talks, Mrs. Amiri said, the international community should make the Taliban group understand that normalization of relations will not occur unless the rights of the people of Afghanistan are respected.
The US Special Representative for Women and Human Rights for Afghanistan added, “We must ensure that women, particularly women, have access to education, scholarships, employment and other forms of protection from the Taliban group’s violent and oppressive actions.”
The Taliban group, during its time in power in Afghanistan, has placed severe restrictions on women’s lives and increasingly used violence against them. Several international institutions have said that the behavior of the group towards Afghan women constitutes gender apartheid and may even be considered a crime against humanity by the Taliban group.
Since the domination of the Taliban group in the country, they imposed many restrictions on Afghanistani people, especially women and girls which faced national and international reaction.
