RASC News Agency: In the Aliabad district of Kunduz province, drinking water networks are reportedly being built for families.
This water supply network is being built by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and with 10% of the people’s share for the villages of “Mirshikh” and “Balochs”.
At the opening ceremony of this project, Dost Muhammad Sayeed Zai, head of development and rural areas of the Taliban group in Kunduz province, said: “The cost of building this network will be nearly 8 million and one hundred thousand Kabuli/Afghani rupees. By usage of this network, the required water will be provided for 420 household.”
Local reports claim that this network employs solar energy to pump water from a deep well that will soon be built, and it then distributes the water to taps in the aforementioned settlements.
The construction of this network is supposed to be completed in two and a half months and it will be used by the residents.
Earlier, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the World Bank said that more than 330 million children worldwide live in extreme poverty.
UNICEF and the World Bank said in a joint report on Sunday (September 17) that despite the fact that children are one third of the world’s population; But they make up more than 50% of the poorest.
On the other hand, not long ago, a number of farmers and villagers of Kunduz province, who have land without water and irrigation and use solar electricity, complained to the electricity department (Bereshna) of this province and said that they are being charged money for electricity, while that they have installed a solar power device with huge personal consumption.
